The Paradoxical Commandments | by Dr. Kent M. Keith | Revised by William Christopher Jordan 09/19/2010
• People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered. Love them unconditionally, anyway.
• If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. I love those people unconditionally anyway.
• If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies. Succeed and love unconditionally regardless.
• The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good and love unconditionally every day.
• Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank and love unconditionally in your vulnerability.
• The most prominent men and women with the most significant ideas can be shot down by the most petite men and women with the smallest minds. Think big and love all men and women unconditionally regardless.
• People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs. Fight for a few underdogs, honor the top dogs, and love unconditionally.
• What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Love unconditionally, and it won’t matter.
• People need help but may attack you if you do help them. That’s when they need unconditional love the most.
• Give the world the best you have, and you’ll get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway, and love unconditionally
I tried my best to remember this.
I woke up at 6:00 AM, crawled out of my truck, looked up into the sky, and noticed one singular, egg-shaped cloud floating overhead. It just sat there in one spot, demanding my full attention. It looked like some alien spaceship. After I took the following photograph around 6:30 AM, I went into Starbucks for my morning beverage.
After checking my morning messages, I looked outside and noticed that the cloud had increased in size and developed what appeared to be some swirl at the very bottom. It looked like cotton candy.
Shortly afterward, another cloud appeared, unlike any cloud I had ever seen. It was a very dreamy morning.
That afternoon, around 5:00 PM, I decided to drive up to Lake Tahoe to see the sunset. I arrived approximately 45 minutes after departing Reno and took the following photos. I really had a lot of fun taking these photos for my journal and various shots for various couples who needed someone to take their photographs.
After the sunset, I drove back to Reno and went to bed several hours later, grateful for such a laid-back, relaxing, and healing day.
