Vogue was the sixth track of concert footage in Madonna’s 2004 movie, Truth or Dare. The single was originally from the soundtrack album I’m Breathless (Music from and Inspired by the film Dick Tracy.)
In January 2010, I was forced to cash in my retirement. Then, I had to make the difficult decision to either give up my apartment and move back to the East Coast with my family or sell my truck and try to stick things out in Oregon. Oregon’s extremely high unemployment rate left me hopeless, so I decided to give up my apartment and keep my truck.
One night, while out dancing, I began to reflect on the beginning of my story. I had come a very long way. But no matter where my life experiences brought me, there was one place I could go to forget about the pain of life and celebrate everything good. Throughout my story, this place has become my sanctuary.
Checking my burdens at the door, I would enter my temple, walk out onto my altar, and find myself in a deep state of prayer and meditation within a few short minutes. Without fail, my guardian angels would surround me, and I would be overcome with joy and happiness. Everything in the world would be okay.
“When all else fails and you long to be something better than you are today, I know a place where you can get away. It’s called a dance floor, and here’s what it’s for, so…”
Instead of wallowing in my sorrow and depression, I decided right then and there that I would be grateful for what I had, and I trusted that everything would be just fine.

VOGUE
Vogue, vogue
Vogue, vogue
Go with the flow
Go with the flow
Come on, vogue
Let your body move to the music, hey, hey, hey
Come on, vogue
Let your body go with the flow, you know, you can do it
Look around everywhere you turn is heartache
It’s everywhere that you go
You try everything you can to escape
The pain of life that you know
When all else fails and you long to be
Something better than you are today
I know a place where you can get away
It’s called a dance floor, and here’s what it’s for, so
Come on, vogue
Let your body move to the music, hey, hey, hey
Come on, vogue
Let your body go with the flow, you know you can do it
All you need is your own imagination
So use it that’s what it’s for
Go inside, for your finest inspiration
Your dreams will open the door
It makes no difference if you’re black or white
If you’re a boy or a girl
If the music’s pumping, it will give you new life
You’re a superstar, yes, that’s what you are, you know it
Come on, vogue
Let your body groove to the music, hey, hey, hey
Come on, vogue
Let your body go with the flow, you know you can do it
Come on, vogue
Let your body go with the flow, you know you can do it
Beauty’s where you find it
Not just where you bump and grind it
Soul is in the music hall
That’s where I feel so beautiful
Magical, life’s a ball
So get up on the dance floor
Come on, vogue
Let your body groove to the music, hey, hey, hey
Come on, vogue
Let your body go with the flow, you know you can do it
Vogue, vogue
