Dumping Depression
Day Sixteen – March 4, 2010
I woke up in a complete haze. I could still feel the effects of the herbs/medicine from the night before. I spent most of the morning checking my email and figuring out what to eat to make myself feel better. I could not think clearly and wouldn’t say I liked that feeling. I knew then that I would never do that sort of thing again. My daily Kabbalah meditation was perfect for this day.
Another one of Sam’s friends visited around noon, and we spent the early afternoon hiking in the hills behind Sam’s house. We then followed that up with a short bike ride around his neighborhood, but no matter what we seemed to do, I could not shake off the herbs/medicine from the night before. I felt like I was walking through mud or a foggy haze the entire day.
That evening, we drove to downtown Palm Springs and attended the Thursday Night Street Fair. I was amazed at how people showed up for this weekly event. The streets were completely packed. One of the vendors, another friend of Sam’s, gave me a free bar of soap scented with grapefruit. The soap smelled nice.
We arrived at Sam’s place around 9:30 PM and went to bed shortly afterward. I was completely exhausted, hoping that I would be completely back to normal the next morning.
