Sharing The Flame
Day Twenty-Three – March 11, 2010
The sleeping bag turned out to be perfect. Just what I needed: warm and cozy!
I started day twenty-three surrounded by RV’s in a casino parking lot. I crawled out of the back of my truck and was welcomed by a bright, sunny, breezy morning. It was 42 degrees. Brrr
Once I logged into my email, I discovered a new poem from my friend, Casey, which was inspired by a phone conversation from the day before:
Thanks for the morning call
Your Karma is out of its pall
Old friends and new
Are welcoming you
And it sounds like you’re having a ball
Before I started my second day in Tucson, I decided that it was a day to regroup and center myself. I put four things on my agenda:
1) The gym,
2) laundry,
3) an hour of meditation and
4) something completely unexpected.
While I was driving into town, I had stopped at a stop light when, all of a sudden, a bee hit my windshield. It bounced on my windshield several times directly in front of my face as if trying to get my attention. Once I recognized the bee, it flew away and disappeared.
Bee brings the following message:
- Connection to the Goddess Diana
- Understanding female warrior energy
- Reincarnation
- Communication with the dead
- Helping earth-bound spirits move on to their proper place
- Concentration
- Prosperity

After a much-needed workout, I headed to a nearby laundromat to do a couple of loads of laundry. While waiting for my clothes to dry, I got online and began playing around on my computer. Suddenly, it dawned on me to search for a metaphysical bookstore. By chance or not, I found one about ten blocks away.
Once my laundry finished, I drove to the bookstore and spent the next several minutes taking an inventory of everything in the store. I didn’t see anything that caught my attention until I was about to leave. On the chalkboard, next to the entrance, was the following message, “Free Rune readings in March, with a donation to the Humane Society.” I thought to myself, how could I go wrong with that offer?
I sat down with the reader, who gave me a brief history of the runes. I had no idea that they originated in Scandinavia. Since part of my heritage was Swedish, I became interested in what the reader had to tell me about the runes. I was utterly fascinated. I thought about my friend, Marie, who was back in Sweden.
The reading lasted fifteen minutes, and I was delighted with the message at the end. Everything about the journey appeared to be happening just as it should. When the reading was over, I donated to the Humane Society and thanked the reader for his time and energy.
I then drove down the street to a local Chinese restaurant for a bite. After I paid for my meal, I received a fortune cookie that read, “A refreshing change is in your future.”
All the signs looked good going forward, but I knew I had to continue to live in the moment without expectations.
I meditated that night and then drifted off to sleep. The next morning, I prepared to continue my journey of sharing the flames of the 72 Names of God.
