Direction: South
Element: Fire
Offering: Black Beans
On the third day, I lit a white candle for my altar and quickly headed to Dreamy Draw Park, arriving at approximately 2:57 PM. I was running a bit late on this day. Since I had a long, unfamiliar hike ahead of me and had to arrive by 3:21 PM, I quickly gathered my things and headed for my third destination.
Since I had never visited the area of the park where I was working on this day, I had no idea how long it would take me to hike there or exactly what route I was supposed to take. I had to rely entirely on my inner guidance. Walking down the bike trail, I noticed a park ranger standing at The Transfiguration of Christ Mountain.
He was standing in the exact location where I had performed most of my ceremonies. He had a camera in his hand, aiming it directly at the ground beneath his feet. I couldn’t help but wonder what he was photographing and if perhaps it was the items that I had left on the mountain during my full moon ceremony nine days earlier, on February 22, 2016.
February 22, 2016 Offering
Since I was in a huge hurry to get to my third location, I didn’t have the luxury of investigating what the park ranger was photographing. I had to keep pushing forward. It was bizarre to see the park ranger standing in the place where I performed most of my ceremonies, but what was even more strange was the timing of it all. I wouldn’t have seen him at all if I had been a few minutes earlier or later. I had to trust that I saw him for a particular reason. I continued on my hike.
To make a long, hot, unfamiliar hike through a remote canyon short…
I arrived at my third location precisely at 3:21 PM. I took a photograph of the landscape towards the North and quickly began my ceremony.
While shaking my Hopi rattle and repeating the following mantra;
The Father and I are one.
I stand before thee in the Light of the Christ.
For I am Light
I am Light
I am that Light.
…I greeted the six directions: north facing Hopi, east, south, west, above, and below.
I gently placed 123 black beans on the ground as an offering…
As I faced the sun, I applied coconut oil and cornmeal paste to my ankles, wrists, and forehead. Then, I stretched out my arms and legs in both directions.
And with the following intentions: selflessness, fulfillment, completion, universality, universal understanding, interrelatedness, compassion, idealism, tolerance, forgiveness, generosity, benevolence, humanitarianism, emotionalism, and justice, I humbly come to you for myself and all of humankind.
I spoke the following words: Creator, I humbly come to you for myself and humankind. I stand before thee in the Light of Christ completely naked, just as I am. Please see me for who I am—all my imperfections and flaws. I humbly come to you openly and honestly, revealing my true nature and hiding nothing. I kept the remaining part private.
I continued to face the Sun until I felt my prayer was received. I laid down a rose quartz crystal I had taken during day two.
I closed my ceremony with the I am Light mantra, packed my things, and returned to my vehicle.
After sunset at 6:26 PM, I removed the coconut oil and cornmeal from my body and face. At that point, the first day was complete.
