1) Do you believe in Unconditional Love? If so, based on which religion or spiritual practice? Yes I do believe in unconditional love. I wouldn’t say it is based on a religion or spiritual practice. It is a feeling, a sense, a knowing deep within that just knows. A mother’s love for a child is the purest form I have experienced.
2) What does the concept of Unconditional Love mean to you personally? The concept of unconditional love to me means complete allowing of the soul of the other to be free to follow their own path. It is in the allowing that we are free from judgment, needing to control, needing to influence another in their journey of life. “Holding the space” so to speak for one as they experience their life with gentleness, kindness and compassion. This is not easy to do for one must know self love before unconditional love which makes it so very challenging. It is connecting with the purest form of light of God first and stepping the ego aside.
3) Does your faith teach Unconditional Love? If so, please share that teaching here. So many religions so many teachers have achieved this level of inner peace and harmony. It doesn’t do justice to name a selective few. I was guided to experience many paths which have all had a leader of love which is the greatest gift. Working toward that soul perfection is the goal of a life in my estimation.
4) Are you political? How do you practice Unconditional Love in your politics? No, I am not preferring to be political. This term for me has taken on a very ego based meaning and does not reflect the best interest of the many as represented by the few. It is not my path. I do send them much love and blessings for their work. I have my own ego issues of control and judgment to work through before I can achieve unconditional love in this area.
5) Do you practice Unconditional Love in your everyday life? I would like to think I do. I set my intention daily to walk in alignment. It is a practice that reveals miracles when in alignment and chaos when out of alignment. This is challenging work and so very rewarding when you can feel the alignment even if brief and fleeting. It definitely is a daily practice for self with love and patience within for our shortcomings.
6) Have you ever experienced Unconditional Love from another human being? If so, please share your experience here. The love of a young child before they develop the ego is the purest form. There is an awe in their innocence before the parent role starts to taint this perfection of the child. There are many along the path that have come close at moments of pure love. I love to feel this when connection is so pure with others. There is a feeling, a knowing, a complete connection that is blissful and transcendent. Pure magic.
That night, a lunar eclipse took place. It fell on the same day as the winter solstice, a rare cosmic event that hadn’t occurred in centuries. Ricardo and I were unable to take in the eclipse because our neighborhood was under lockdown while Phoenix police searched for an armed gunman.
