I woke up from a deep sleep around 3:50 AM. As much as I tried to fall back to sleep, I could not. In the past, when this sort of thing happened, I would discover someone standing very close to my van, or near my parking space. Since the owner of the RV Park I was staying in sometimes provided showers for some of the local Navajo, my first thought was that one was outside my van.
I looked out the front window, and that’s when I discovered it wasn’t a person I was feeling; it was the moon. It had just appeared over the horizon. I took the following photograph, but as you can see, my hands were not very steady.
I eventually went back to sleep, and before waking at 8:00 AM, I had another strange dream:
I had a dream that I was having a conversation with a couple, a man and a woman. As the couple was about to leave, the woman grabbed me from behind, wrapped her arms around me, and placed her hands on my front pelvic hip bones. Although this tickled me to the point of laughter, she would not release her hands. She said she was sending me power and that I should bear it for as long as possible. This event lasted for a few minutes, and the dream ended abruptly. (This dream would be significant to what came next.)
Once I started my day, I took a moment to peek at my daily meditation, “Silent Partner.” I thought about my dream and wondered if the woman in my dream was someone I had yet to meet, coupled with my mother’s spirit, which was also represented by the moon.
After publishing the final version of Day 26, I got a bite to eat and headed west to Aztec, New Mexico, and the Aztec Ruins National Monument. These are located just south of the 36°50′ Parallel.

After paying my $5.00 entry fee, I watched a 30-minute film on the history of the ruins and the surrounding area. It was during this film that I learned something exciting. The people from this region were known as the “Anasazi.” The Hopi believed they were descendants of the Anasazi, otherwise known as the “ant people.”
The Hopi word for ant is “anu.” The word for friends is “naki.” Additionally, Anasazi sounds a lot like Annunaki, and it was my dream about Annunaki (See Introduction) that inspired me to take my journey. Suddenly, I felt a strange connection.
After the film, I walked to the ruins’ entrance, invoked the ancestors and enlightened ones, and asked for permission to enter their land. Once I had permission to enter, I started down the designated trail. I stopped in at the first exhibit and took the following photograph.
When I approached the Hubbard Tri-Wall Site, the second exhibit I stopped at on my walk, I was fascinated. As you can see on the map below, the Hubbard Tri-Wall Site is located in the back of the ruins, separate from the main structure.
As a note of interest, the site is a kiva with three surrounding walls, which is very rare to find within the Chocoan or Anasazi system. A kiva is a room used by modern Puebloans (Hopi) for religious rituals, many of which are associated with the kachina belief system.
Considering that my main intention while visiting these ruins was to connect on a spiritual level, not so much on a historical level, something pretty amazing happened when I approached the kiva. A pair of crows circling directly overhead called to make themselves known to me. Suddenly, as I acknowledged the crows, I thought about my dream about the couple earlier in the morning. I felt a clear connection between the two.
Crow offers the following messages:
- shapeshifter,
- working in darkness,
- ancestors,
- guardian of time,
- being ethical.
Crow is an omen of change. When Crow appears, things that you have been working toward will come to fruition. Crow lives in the void and has no sense of time; therefore, it sees the past, present, and future simultaneously. Crow merges light and dark, inner and outer. It is the totem of the Great Spirit and must be respected.
With all this in mind, I continued my tour of the amazing ruins.
I didn’t pick up on any other signs or omens during my walk until I walked into the Great Kiva. I felt a presence here. In this room, I decided to perform the “Silent Partner” invocation. Sitting on the western wall facing east, I performed this meditation between 1:15 and 1:35 PM.
As soon as my invocation was complete, I looked overhead and took the following photo.
I then walked over to the pit in the center of the room…
and left an olive leaf as a peace offering.
I exited the Great Kiva and took the following photograph as I left the ruins.
I waited for any additional insight and spent the rest of the day preparing for my next destination. I spent the night in a Sam’s Club parking lot. I went to bed around 10:00 PM.
