I woke up reasonably early, hopped out of bed, and enthusiastically greeted Day 43 of my journey. I completed all of my morning chores, loaded up my van, and set out for the Four Corners area of the United States.
Before I pulled out of the driveway, I noticed that the odometer on my van read 153,254 miles. Seeing the numbers 1, 2, and 3 in the mileage was an excellent sign for me.
I decided that my destination for Day 43 would be my return to the Hopi village of Moenkopi, approximately 4 hours north of Phoenix.
I departed Phoenix at 10:30 AM. Approximately thirty minutes south of Flagstaff, while traveling north on Interstate 17, I witnessed two crows sitting next to one another on one of the large road signs next to the Interstate. I instantly felt the presence of my two friends at Hopi and thought the crow sighting was a positive “Welcome back!” message to Arizona’s high country.
I arrived in Flagstaff around 1:00 p.m. and spent the next few hours at Starbucks, having lunch and working on my computer. Once I finished my work, I returned to the road and continued north on Highway 89 toward Tuba City, Arizona. As soon as I pulled away from Flagstaff, I drove through a small rainstorm.
Which was another positive and welcoming sign of my return to Hopi. The rain was always a great sign. Since I could not find a place on my van’s dashboard for my Native American, four-pointed crystal, I strapped it into the passenger’s seat and let it point the way.
I arrived in Moenkopi approximately 1.5 hours later. After a quick stop at Denny’s, I drove into the village to search for a place to perform my meditation. Since I discovered in May (May 23) that I was born and raised on the exact parallel as the Hopi village of Moenkopi, I thought this would be the perfect location for my meditation and re-introduction to the Four Corners area.
Google Maps 2012
I could not find a comfortable spot in the village, but I did locate a site off the highway that overlooked Moenkopi. I pulled over, set everything up, faced east towards First, Second, and Third Mesa, and invoked the “Defying Gravity” angel between 5:55 and 6:15 pm.
While I performed this meditation, I thought of my family back in North Carolina, my friends in Phoenix, and my two Hopi friends on the Second Mesa. Once my mediation was complete, I photographed some graffiti on the stone next to me…
I returned to Denny’s to work on my journal and turned my attention to the significance of the number Four:
- 4 Cosmic Forces: Sun, Moon, Planets, Stars
- Body: The core of man, his heart, has four chambers
- 4 Vital Elements: Earth, Fire, Water, Air
- 4 Seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall
- 4 Directions: North, South, East, West
- Flora: Four parts to vegetation – roots, stem, leaves, fruit (or flower)
- Fauna: There are four genres of beasts that take air: two-legged, four-legged, those with no legs, and flying creatures.
But more importantly, this segment of my journey was centered around the Four Corners area of the United States, the Four Hopi Tiponi Tablets, and some of the prophecies surrounding those tablets:
After dinner at Denny’s, I ventured across the highway onto the Navajo Reservation to rent a space at a local RV Park and went to bed around 10:30 PM.
