Direction: Southeast
Elements: Fire | Air
Offering: Black Beans | Barley
On the eighth day, I lit a white candle for my altar and headed to Dreamy Draw Park, arriving at approximately 12:00 PM. When I arrived in the park, I realized I had left the coconut oil/cornmeal paste at home, so I turned around and returned to my apartment. I returned about an hour later. At that point, I gathered my things and headed to my eighth destination. I arrived at my ceremonial location at 1:28 PM. I began my ceremony several minutes later, at 1:32 PM.
While shaking my Hopi rattle and repeating the following mantra;
The Father and I are one.
I stand before thee in the Light of the Christ.
For I am Light
I am Light
I am that Light.
…I greeted the six directions: north facing Hopi, east, south, west, above and below. As an offering, I gently placed 62 black beans (representing the direction of the south) and 61 grains of barely (representing the direction of the east) on a flat rock on the ground in front of me.
I then added the Rose Quartz I had taken from the seventh location the previous day.
I removed the coconut oil/corn paste from my medicine bag, placed a small amount on both ankles, both wrists, and my forehead, and faced the Sun.
I looked directly at the Sun…stretched out my arms and legs
And with the following intentions: selflessness, fulfillment, completion, universality, universal understanding, interrelatedness, compassion, idealism, tolerance, forgiveness, generosity, benevolence, humanitarianism, emotionalism, and justice, I humbly come to you for myself and all of humankind.
I spoke the following words: Creator, I humbly come to you for myself and humankind. I stand before thee in the Light of Christ completely naked, just as I am. Please see me for who I am—all my imperfections and flaws. I humbly come to you openly and honestly, revealing my true nature and hiding nothing. I kept the remaining part private.
I continued to face the Sun until I felt my message had been received.
Once I was done, I looked for another Rose Quartz to use in my ceremony the following day. After I found the Rose Quartz, I gently placed it next to the other Rose Quartz, beans, and grains of barley and asked permission to borrow the new Rose Quartz for a day.
I then closed my ceremony with the I am Light mantra.
I packed up my things and headed back to my vehicle. Once I returned to my apartment, I placed the new Rose Quartz by the lit candle, and after the sunset at 6:30 PM, I removed the coconut oil/cornmeal from my body and face.
And at that point, I declared the eighth day of my journey complete.
