Direction: All
Elements: All
Offering: All
On the last day of my nine-day ceremony, I lit a white candle for my altar and headed to Dreamy Draw Park. I arrived at approximately 10:00 AM. At that point, I gathered my things and headed to the top of The Transfiguration of Christ Mountain. I arrived at the top of the mountain at 10:25 AM. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted with a distinct sound. It almost sounded like the barking of a small mammal. I looked around and discovered a Roadrunner perched on a nearby rock. The bird looked at me and repeated the sound three times.
I was mystified as to why a Roadrunner would perch himself on the top of a mountain. I always thought Roadrunners hung out in low-lying shrubs and dry creek beds. However, since it was the last day of my ceremony, I knew this sighting was very significant and meaningful, so the bird’s presence had to be honored. According to Native American traditions, Roadrunner offers the following medicine or wisdom:
- Proper use of speed
- Understanding rapid change
- Agility
- Evading capture through quickness
After I honored the Roadrunner, I walked over to where the Rose Quartz crystals were embedded in the top of the mountain, set all of my things down on a large rock, and was instructed to clear a spot on the ground nearby. At that point, I replicated the diagram of my nine-day ceremony with several small rocks, intentionally leaving the center portion of the diagram blank. Once again, the diagram represented Christ Consciousness.
Afterward, I walked over to the embedded Rose Quartz to begin my ceremony. I then noticed that most of the pennies I had offered during my full moon ceremony two weeks earlier, back on February 22, remained in place. I found this very interesting since I had noticed the park ranger taking photographs of the location six days earlier, on Day 3 of my ceremony. After taking a mental note of everything, I began my ceremony. It was precisely 10:32 AM. While shaking my Hopi rattle and repeating the following mantra;
The Father and I are one.
I stand before thee in the Light of the Christ.
For I am Light
I am Light
I am that Light.
…I greeted the six directions: north facing Hopi, east, south, west, above, and below.
I gently placed the remaining kernels of corn, grains of barley, black beans, and grains of rice on the ground next to the pennies as my last offering.
I added the Rose Quartz that I had taken from the eighth location the previous day…
I placed a small amount of the coconut oil/cornmeal paste on both ankles, wrists, and forehead. Then, I faced the Sun.
Looking directly at the Sun, I stretched out my arms and legs,
And with the following intentions: selflessness, fulfillment, completion, universality, universal understanding, interrelatedness, compassion, idealism, tolerance, forgiveness, generosity, benevolence, humanitarianism, emotionalism, and justice, I humbly come to you for myself and all of humankind.
I spoke the following words: Creator, I humbly come to you for myself and humankind. I stand before thee in the Light of Christ completely naked, just as I am. Please see me for who I am—all my imperfections and flaws. I humbly come to you openly and honestly, revealing my true nature and hiding nothing. I kept the remaining part private.
I continued to face the Sun until I felt my message had been heard. Once my message was delivered, I looked around for five small Rose Quartz crystals. I gently placed them on top of the kernels of corn, grains of barley, beans, and grains of barley and then transferred the stones to my diagram.
I then completed my diagram with the five Rose Quartz crystals.
Afterward, I closed down my ceremony with the I am Light mantra.
As I was packing up my things, I noticed at least four or five butterflies flying erratically around the top of the mountain. Unable to photograph them, I headed back to my vehicle. And at that point, I declared my nine-day ceremony complete. Approximately eight hours later, the Sun was eclipsed by the Moon over the Pacific Ocean.
