Day 1 – 43: Defying Gravity
Day 2 – 3: Miracle Making
Day 3 – 46: Absolute Certainty
Day 4 – 28: Soul Mate
I woke up around 7:15 AM. After finishing breakfast, I chose my daily meditation card for the day. Judging from my selection, this particular journey also involved a soul mate or a member of my soul group.
I left Fargo around 8:00 AM and headed west on Interstate 94. Three hours later, I arrived in Bismarck, North Dakota, where I had lunch, filled up my tank with gas, and then continued west. It was a beautiful, sunny day in North Dakota.
A couple of hours beyond Bismarck was Theodore Roosevelt National Park, just a short exit off Interstate 94. I had not planned on stopping at this park, but after viewing it from an overlook off the interstate, I decided to look closer.
I paid my $10.00 entry fee and, after visiting the Cottonwood Campground, decided to camp out for the night. For some reason, I felt a connection to this campground. I needed to reconnect with nature. I searched for a campsite and found the most fantastic site off the Little Missouri River.
After I claimed my campsite, I drove around the park and hiked to the top of one of its many summits.
It wasn’t the most impressive national park I’d ever visited, but it was a pleasant surprise, considering it wasn’t even on my agenda.
At one point during my drive, I came upon a massive Buffalo scratching itself on a large boulder.
I gave it some space, thanked it for its wisdom, and continued my tour around the park.
Buffalo offers the following wisdom:
- strength,
- wisdom,
- being generous,
- survival,
- giving/receiving,
- sharing,
- mother earth.
After my tour, I went to Medora, North Dakota, a small town outside the park. I had dinner and then went to another campground to shower. They charged me three bucks, but it was the best $3 I had spent several days. When I returned to my campsite, I was greeted by a severe thunderstorm. I buckled down in the truck’s cab, worked on my journal, and waited for the storm to pass.
When I went to bed around 11:00 PM, the storm was still going strong.
