Day Eight with Family | Grand Canyon National Park
Directions for Driving from Kayenta, Arizona to Flagstaff, Arizona. Google Maps, 2010
We departed Kayenta at 9:00 AM and headed directly to the south rim of the Grand Canyon.
We arrived approximately three hours after our departure.
We spent the next few hours exploring the park, visiting various gift shops, and having lunch at the local snack bar. While my family had a conversation in the snack bar, I walked around the park and took photos of the wildlife.

I continued to pay very close attention to all of the messages from the wildlife because I knew that they would offer some sort of guidance to me.
After visiting the Grand Canyon and watching an IMAX film at the visitor’s center, we drove to Flagstaff, Arizona. My family checked into their hotel rooms, which they loved.
After a nice dinner, we returned to their rooms and began watching television. My sister and I disagreed about the subject of Gay Bullying, which was all over the news. After becoming upset, I left their room at about 11:00 PM and slept in my truck. I prayed for understanding and Unconditional Love.
After thinking about my disagreement with my sister for quite some time, I concluded that it was not worth jeopardizing everything else that existed between us on so many other levels. I let it go, hoping that someday she would see things differently.
Since our time together was so brief anyway, I continued to focus on the positive and tried to cherish my remaining time with my family.
