Day Six with Family | Page, Arizona
That morning we set out for the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and Lake Powell in Page, Arizona.
Directions for Driving from Bryce Canyon, UT to Page, Arizona. Google Maps, 2010
We departed Bryce Canyon National Park at 9:00 AM and headed south to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park. Once we crossed back over into Arizona, we turned our clocks back an hour and arrived in the park around 11:00 AM.
The aspens were absolutely beautiful.
My uncle, brother-in-law, and uncle’s girlfriend sat at the lodge while my sister and I hiked nearby trails. I took the following photographs during our hike.
We departed Grand Canyon National Park around 3:30 PM and headed towards Page, Arizona, to the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. We stopped briefly in Marble Canyon, Arizona, to take in some sights and purchase some jewelry from the local natives.
We then stopped at the Navajo Bridge for a brief stroll. It was at this point that I saw my very first pair of California Condors sitting on a nearby cliff.
Both were tagged with the numbers 70 and 73.
This sighting felt very significant to me on so many different levels.

We arrived at the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area at sunset, checked into the Lake Powell Resort, had dinner, and took it easy for the rest of the evening.
While I was downloading the day’s photographs, a moth visited the front seat of my truck.

• The power of the whirlwind
• Ease of movement in darkness/shadow
• Transformation

That evening, I received an email from my friend Gary that I had been waiting for over a week. We had been waiting to hear back about a possible job that, if obtained, would have allowed me to work remotely from any location in the country.
In the email, I was told that everything was still uncertain, and it may be several more months before everything falls into place if it happened at all. With less than $200.00 in the bank and all of my bills paid until the 24th of October, I began to truly let go of any hope that I had any chance of recovering without borrowing more money from my family.
At this point, continuing my journey after asking my family for money would come across as irresponsible, disrespectful, and foolish. I went to bed completely disappointed.
The forces that be had brought me to the point of desperation, and I didn’t like it. I wondered if the messages from the condor and the moth were some sort of sign of things to come or a warning of some sort. I certainly did not feel healed like my daily meditation had predicted.
I decided to keep practicing Unconditional Love and remained focused on my time with my family. I wanted to ensure that their vacation’s last few days went smoothly.
I used our remaining time together to decide my next steps.
